JOB SUMMARY: The Commercial Superintendent is responsible for identifying problems, evaluating options and implementing solutions. The Commercial Superintendent is also responsible for completing work per specifications, and representing the company in a professional manner while adhering to the Deer Park Roofing Core Values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  1. Ensure crew members complete all job duties in a professional manner to guarantee an excellent customer service experience.
  2. Identify problems, evaluate options and implement solutions.
  3. Perform work according to manufacture specifications.
  4. Communicate with General Contractors and Customers on a regular basis and attend job site meetings as required.
  5. Estimate additional work as needed and communicate to customer on each project.
  6. Notify Commercial Project Manager and customer of work status and progress changes.
  7. Execute the plan provided by PM.
  8. Field verifies measurements of material.
  9. Computer skills.
  10. Look ahead on each project to keep the material on the job site.
  11. Document all progress in CRM. (Field reports, Events etc.)
  12. Ensure each project is managed per budget restraints and schedules. Must lead the field team to complete the projects on time & on budget.
  13. Install metal as needed.
  14. Manage job sites properly to minimize warranty issues.
  15. Assist Safety Director in jobsite safety audits efficiently throughout the day.
  16. Report and document injuries of any magnitude to a Safety Director immediately.
  17. Participate in and ensure completion of weekly toolbox talks and safety training.
  18. Oversee setup of fall protection gear by following Deer Park Roofing safety program.
  19. Assist in training and developing all field staff.
  20. Issue formal write ups and disciplinary actions to field staff when necessary.
  21. Ensure quantity verification of materials delivered to each job; turn all paperwork in to Commercial Project Manager. Return all unused material to warehouse or distributor.
  22. Document and manage company tools, equipment and vehicles.
  23. Review your timecard for accuracy, sign and return to Commercial Project Manager at the end of each work week.
  24. Communicate effectively with management and all other crew members.
  25. Assist management team as needed.
  26. Assist with other duties as assigned.

This position requires the employee to communicate orally, use vision to see near and far, use depth perception and hear at a conversational level .

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly carry roofing materials and tools, stoop and bend, twist, squat and kneel, reach for materials, and use hand controls. The employee will frequently be required to push and pull materials when tearing off and installing new roof, climb ladders and scaffolding, and crawl. The employee will occasionally be required to balance, reach above the shoulder, use fine finger manipulation, and use equipment that vibrates. Employee will infrequently be required to lift 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift 50 lbs waist to above the shoulder with machine assistance, use foot controls, and do repetitive motions.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee is required to use fall protection, proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in inclement weather conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 5 + years Commercial Superintendent/Foreman experience.

Reasoning Development: Follow all company Health and Safety procedures. Ability to learn the manufacturing flashing details.

Mathematical Development: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers and use geometry.

Language Development: Ability to read manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak using correct English. Ability to speak and understand Spanish is desired, but not required.

Licensures and Certifications: Valid drivers license is required. OSHA 30 certification is required.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
