Estimators at Mid-City Electric provide the planning, coordinating, and completion of estimates for commercial electrical construction projects at some of the most sought-after job sites in the central Ohio area. They are successful at delivering results on time with all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed. They work with a wide range of internal and external personnel, establishing strong professional relationships while maintaining high communication standards.

Successful Estimators Have Experience:

• Reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Preparing estimates by calculating the complete takeoff based on the scope of work
• Securing profitable work
• Maintaining strong, positive relationships
• Maintaining high levels of communication with all parties involved in projects
• Follow awarded contracts which include estimating extra work charges, change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of competitive advantage in the industry to aid bid process
• Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates

Key Experience Needed to Hit the Ground Running:

• Demonstrated experience as an estimator
• Strong knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control
• Ability to interpret cost data and systems
• Proficiency with estimating software
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or similar field

What Would Really Make You Shine:

• Accubid experience
• Commercial electrical estimation experience
