Overview  

 Arizona Materials is currently hiring for a Quality Engineer. Responsibility for day-to-day quality performance.  Testing and adjusting mixes as needed to meet job and project specifications.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for day to day quality performance. Testing and adjusting mixes as needed to meet job and project specifications.
  • Active involvement with the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to ensure special materials are available and that mixes are tested, as appropriate, in preparation for upcoming projects.
  • Responsibility for testing, evaluating and modifying mixes to ensure mix performance while optimizing material cost and overall company aggregate balance.
  • Work closely with the QA and QC managers in order insure that all parties are able back up each other in all Quality Department duties and responsibilities.
  • Development of mix designs to keep the Kilgore Ready Mixed Concrete Divisions on the leading edge of innovation and product availability.
  • Work with the General Manager and Director of Quality of Altaview Concrete to ensure product compliance in the most economical and environmentally sustainable means.
  • Collaborate with the Aggregates Division in evaluating and/or improving new and existing material sources.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot quality issues including, but not limited to real-time specification deviations, customer complaints, and warranty items. Coordinating with the appropriate salesperson on actions and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the customers as to strengthen customer loyalty.
  • Train plant personnel and drivers on their contribution to product quality.
  • Provide leadership and training to the Quality Control Team personnel.

Skills & Experience   

  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.
